Wouldn't it be great to connect your pager to your e-mail? Now you can send and receive pager messages via the CompuServe Information Service (CIS), with the new Stay in Charge augmentations to CIS' business services.
Use the command GO PAGER to register your pager online. You specify the times at which you can receive messages, and the length and the number of messages that you want to receive. You can have long pager messages broken into several messages, or customize the information you receive about the sender. Other options will be added later.
With CompuServe's message service, no PIN is necessary to send a pager message. Instead, your pager will be assigned an e-mail address in the @mobile.compuserve.com domain. You can receive beeper messages from the Internet as well as CIS.
To send messages within CompuServe to a pager user, simply type "MOBILE:username" in the address of your e-mail, and your message will be sent to the pager, with text in alphanumerics if possible.
If you own a pager from MobileComm, PageMart or PageNet, CompuServe's pager "partner"companies, the service costs only a $5 setup fee with no monthly or per-message fee. Users of pagers from other providers pay the setup fee, plus an additional $4.95 a month for the service and 25 cents per pager message received.
