The new generation of scanners is coming down in size and price, but not in performance.The Logitech ScanMan Color 2000 hand-held scanner measures just 1.75 by 5.6 by 6.5 inches, weighs 1 pound and supports resolutions up to 1600dpi color and 800dpi gray scale with software enhancements. The 24-bit TWAIN 3.2 scanner supports 16.8 million colors and comes with Adobe PhotoDeluxe and Xerox TextBridge OCR software. It is available in parallel port and USB (Universal Serial Bus) versions. The Logitech PageScan Color Pro is an enhanced version of the PageScan Color sheetfed scanner. Redesigned for Windows 95, this 24-bit scanner supports enhanced resolution up to 1600dpi and includes a 10-page automatic document feeder. Its detachable motor head lets you scan loose pages and bound materials. The PageScan Color Pro includes Photo Deluxe, TextBridge OCR and DocuMagix PaperMaster electric filing software. Pagis Pro 97 captures, enhances and saves scanned documents in a portable file that shows up in an Explorer window. Use Topic to locate any scanned document or file. View and annotate your scanned documents with text notes, arrows and a highlighter. Drag and drop scanned documents into a word processing application, and Pagis Pro will OCR and reformat them. The word processing document looks just like the scanned original with pictures and formatting in place, and allows you to edit it further.
