Monorail
Not Chic, But Unique

The Monorail home PC isn't family-room furniture, but it earns points for its price and simplicity. For less than $1,000, Monorail's first product has a 75MHz AMD processor, 16MB of RAM, a 1.08GB hard drive, quad-speed CD-ROM, a 33.6 modem and 16-bit sound. A 10.4-inch monitor that tilts and swivels is built into the unit's metal casing. The entire box measures 11 by 14 by 3.5 inches and weighs 16 pounds. While it's not exactly a portable, you can move it around the house without a problem. This system includes software that gets you on the Internet with little fuss. Monorail plans to eventually offer upgrades to 133MHz or 200MHz Pentiums and 80MB of RAM.
