R & R: Resources and Recreation
Game of the Month
Toyz N the Hood

-- by Ian Etra

You'd expect nothing less from a company cofounded by Steven Spielberg. DreamWorks Interactive's The Neverhood is an entirely original and stunning combination of clay animation and computer animation. The game is driven through exploration and puzzle-solving as you move the protagonist, Klaymen, through a surreal, sculptured-clay world to figure out how things work in this "klay" universe. Neverhood's intuitive interface-there are no inventories or maps, just straightforward pointing-and-clicking-makes it unique. There's lots of humor packed into this game-and the main character doesn't even talk.

$54.95. DreamWorks Interactive, 800-426-9400.
