If you have to play musical chairs with your PC's peripherals to connect a scanner, then the Info Peripherals ImageReader Elite is for you. This flatbed scanner builds on USB (Universal Serial Bus) technology to provide a faster 12Mbps transfer rate and allow users to daisy-chain connections for a scanner, mouse, keyboard and other add-ons. You can connect all your peripherals without hassling with port availability or conflicts. The Elite inherits all its family's characteristics. With 300x600dpi hardware resolution and 24-bit processing, the single-pass scanner produces images with up to 16.7 million colors and ships with a TWAIN-compliant driver. It also provides an interface card for non-USB systems. The scanner measures 3.5 by 11.5 by 15.75 inches, and weighs 12.3 pounds. Bundled software includes InfoCenter and Image Pals Go, which together provide OCR functions, fax capabilities, and image editing and cataloging tools. Image Pals Go also lets you create photo albums. $299 Info Peripherals 408-538-2500, fax 408-538-2599 Copyright (c) 1997 CMP Media Inc.
