Ever since Windows 95 was released with all that hoopla in August 1995, Microsoft has been actively promoting the operating system as a games platform-after all, this was one of the few areas where Windows 3.1x stumbled. Almost two years down the road, however, it's had limited success at best. Many of the top-selling titles (left) are still created in the decade-old DOS.
