RAScom's RAServer 2900 gives your company's branch office employees, road warriors and telecommuters remote access to your corporate Windows NT network. The remote access server is based on open, industry-standard technology, including Windows NT Server 4.0 and the ISA bus. According to RAScom, the server is ideal for large businesses that want secure analog and ISDN connections over the Internet. For example, the RAServer 2900 supports Microsoft's PPTP (Point-to-Point Tunneling Protocol), permitting remote clients to tunnel into a RAServer via a local call to an Internet service provider. The server also works with authentication firewalls from RADIUS and Security Dynamics, among other companies. A single RAServer 2900 chassis supports up to 30 Primary Rate ISDN (PRI) links, or 720 concurrent analog lines or ISDN B-channels in the United States (900 users can be supported in Europe). Up to eight RAServer 2900s can be mounted in a standard 19-inch rack, supporting 1,920 modems or 5,760 ISDN users. RAServer 2900 supports Frame Relay and ATM (Asynchronous Transfer Mode) wide-area connections, as well as Ethernet, token ring, FDDI (Fiber Distributed Data Interface) and ATM local area networks. It's also compatible with several primary rate ISDN telco switches, including the AT&T 4Ess and 5Ess, Definity PBX, DMS-100 and DMS-250.
