Make a connection with Artisoft's Visual Fax 2.0, an ActiveX development kit for building fax broadcasting and server applications. Artisoft made its name with LANtastic, a peer-to-peer network operating system that lost popularity when Microsoft shipped Windows 95 with bundled peer services. Since then, the company has branched out into the computer-telephone integration (CTI) software market. Visual Fax, its latest entry in this arena, supports up to 32 simultaneous fax lines, ASCII, PCX and TIFF files, and special events functions that notify you when faxes are sent and received. It also lets you track the status of fax jobs and fax devices in five queues (Pending, Sending, Sent, Receiving and Received), abort and delete jobs, and temporarily suspend processing. You can integrate Visual Fax with Artisoft's other CTI products (such as Visual Voice Text-to-Speech 2.0 and Visual Voice Pro for Digital Alpha) to build interactive voice response (IVR), touch-tone data access, and fax-on-demand applications. Visual Fax 2.0 includes ActiveX controls that work with 32-bit OLE toolkits, including Microsoft Visual Basic 4.0, Visual C++ 4.0, Access 7.0, Visual FoxPro 3.0, Powersoft PowerBuilder 5.0 and Borland Delphi 2.0.
