Letters
I take exception to the letter from Zeeshan Ahmad Sarfraz (Letters, February), who rationalizes that software piracy is okay because vendors don't advertise in his country. I would assume that stealing is pretty much unjustifiable and unacceptable in his or any other part of the world. Since the ubiquity of the Internet equalizes world access to products and advertisements, that excuse has become obsolete. Andy Dichter via America Online I disagree with the letter from Mr. Sarfraz, who blithely condones thievery, with the excuse that software is difficult to obtain in his country (Pakistan). As a software developer, I cannot condone the theft of my work for any reason, and Mr. Sarfraz's attempt to justify it is deplorable. Dennis Miller via the Internet Come on, folks! Let's get real here. What do you get for your $16 on the pirated CD? Lots. It's called "value for your money." What do you get for $116 on the "legit" CD? Not as much, eh?
