Take a Drive for a Spin

By today's standards, a 250MB hard drive just doesn't cut it. But a second drive that size nicely complements your system's internal hard drive. The Avatar Shark 250 2.5-inch removable hard drive plugs into your PC's parallel port. Built primarily for notebooks, the Shark also facilitates data transfer to your desktop at a transfer rate of up to 1.25MB per second and an average seek time of less than 12 milliseconds. At 1 by 3.5 by 5.5 inches, the 9.7-ounce drive is smaller than an Iomega Zip drive.

The Shark 250 connects to the parallel port of any portable or desktop, and features an active pass-through parallel connector that enables it and a printer to be connected simultaneously to the same parallel port. The active pass-through design allows you to disconnect the drive while leaving the printer active at all times. Power is drawn from your PC's keyboard/mouse port, so the Shark doesn't require an external power adapter.
