The Dell Latitude XPi and XPi CD portables are hitting the road with Windows NT Workstation 4.0. The laptops contain proprietary advanced power management (APM) and Plug-and-Play features unavailable in NT until later this year. Dell's APM technology controls PC Card power settings, clock synchronization and power usage levels. Monitor battery life by clicking on a taskbar icon. The Plug-and-Play features support hot swapping of most popular PC Card modems and network adapters. The XPi includes a 133MHz Pentium processor, 16MB of RAM, a 1.4GB hard drive, an 11.3-inch SVGA active-matrix color display, a 10BaseT Ethernet card and a 33.6Kbps PC Card modem. The XPi CD comes with the same memory configuration, a 150MHz Pentium, a 12.1-inch SVGA TFT display and an internal 6X CD-ROM drive.
