Netscape Proxy Server 2.5, part of Netscape's Suitespot server software family, speeds Web access and lets you designate which Web sites are approved for corporate use. The software, for Windows NT Server and UNIX, holds up to 128GB cache of Web content locally, thereby conserving network bandwidth and speeding Web page retrieval. Intelligent Caching lets you replicate Web content across all of your servers. You can limit Web access based on user name and password, IP address, host name or domain name server, or wildcard expressions. Netscape Proxy Server includes Trend Micro's InterScan VirusWall and supports secure sockets layer (SSL) encryption for protected reverse proxy, as well as encrypted remote administration.
