Hot-Wiring Windows NT

You'd think the 113 fixes contained in Service Pack 2 would get Windows NT 4.0 up to speed. But no: There are already nine hot fixes for SP2 itself at ftp://ftp.microsoft.com/bussys/winnt/winnt-public/fixes/usa/nt40/hotfixespostSP2. They cure problems with, among other things, Mac network access; DNS operation; TCP/IP performance; Exchange Server Information Store; telnet calls from clients; multiple-processor Alpha machines; Autosync-compatible applications; and RAS dial-out and priority-15 applications that hog resources. The fixes haven't been regression tested yet, so apply one only if you really need it. By the way, the fixes will appear in SP3.
