The latest scuttlebutt in the NT industry... Drivers, please: HP and Microsoft's NT partnership sounds nice (see story in this section), but don't celebrate too wildly. NT still lacks drivers for HP's Color-Match, PPA printers and OfficeJet scanner. Buggy list: A number of devices on the NT 4.0 Hardware Compatibility List are not supported. Examples include Iomega's Ditto drives. Go figure: Last year, Sun CEO Scott McNealy predicted NT would eliminate VMS, OS/2 and Novell NetWare. Nevertheless, Sun chief technology officer Eric Schmidt recently resigned to become CEO of Novell. Zero Administration? Microsoft is reducing NTW's total cost of ownership by prohibiting NTW users from installing software (visit http://www.microsoft.com/windows/zak/). We'll pass, thank you. Late to the funeral: Pkware (http://www.pkware.com) announced PKZip for NT/PowerPC in March ... one month after Microsoft terminated NT for PowerPC development. Turn down the VOLUME: I.S.T. (http://www.webposition.com) sent us an unsolicited e-mail loaded with ALL CAPS TEXT, but since the information is EMBARGOED, we can't tell you about it. WHAT A PITY.
