You want your remote tools small, light and fast. The Addonics PCMCIA 12x MAX PocketCD and Parallel PocketCD portable 10X CD-ROM drives are designed to fulfill that need. The units differ only in their interface and power source. The PCMCIA card draws power from your laptop computer's battery, from an internal rechargeable battery or from an optional external power adapter. The parallel port version uses an included 5-volt power adapter for CD-ROM applications, or four AA batteries for quick CD-ROM access or audio CD playback. Both drives are 0.7 by 5.3 by 5.5 inches and weigh 15 ounces. Their average access time is 190ms. The portable drives include a mini-headphone jack and controls for audio CD playback.
