IIS Add-On

-- by Joseph C. Panettieri

Mustang Software is nothing if not realistic. The company's Wildcat Interactive Net Server (WIN Server) competes directly with Microsoft's Internet Information Server (IIS) and typically comes out far behind. So, even while it sells WIN Server, Mustang is now ready to sell you Web Essentials ... for IIS.

Under development now, the product family is expected to include an SMTP/POP3 mailing list server, file libraries and conference messaging capabilities for IIS. The software will support ActiveX controls, Active Server Pages and ODBC. It will be available on Mustang's Web site (http://www.mustang.com/we), rather than via retail channels. Pricing and availability were undisclosed at press time.
