Advanced Logic Research wants to raid your server data center. The ALR DataStation Ultra-8 is an eight-drive RAID storage subsystem for multiplatform server environments that require storage expansion, simplified maintenance and optimal system uptime. It features industry-standard PCI RAID technology, data-transfer rates of up to 40MBps, and up to eight hot-swappable Fast/Wide Ultra SCSI disk drives (for up to 72GB of storage). An optional module lets you daisy-chain multiple subsystems for 216GB of storage. The ALR DataStation Ultra-8 supports RAID 0, RAID 1 and RAID 5 protection levels for critical data. High-availability offerings include two cooling fans and two power supplies, which use load-sharing circuitry that protects against internal power failures.
