Letters
The letter from John A. Terwiel titled "Flirting with disaster" (Letters, May) shows the true damage that has been done through the proliferation of graphical user interfaces. Too many people believe that their hard drive is an unapproachable god, simply because their Desktop lacks a point-and-click icon to do a reinstall for them. I do not believe that everyone needs to know how to format a hard drive. But until the folks who have not bothered to grow beyond the point-and-click level of computer literacy grow out of it, they will be at the mercy of their imaginary god. James F.
