Compaq Armada 7700
Compaq's Power-Packed Portables

A notebook PC that comes with Intel's MMX technology isn't such a rare find anymore, but that's just scratching the surface of the Compaq Armada 7700's list of features.

The Armada 7700 series includes 150MHz and 166MHz MMX Pentiums, integrated AC adapters and a space-saving tower option that lets you dock your notebook vertically to the ArmadaStation Expansion Base.

The notebooks are also available with integrated 33.6Kbps DSVD telephony modems, dual installation of Windows 95 and NT 4.0, and a 64-bit dual-display graphics subsystem with 2MB of video DRAM. The higher-end models ship standard with 32MB of RAM, a 2.1GB hard drive and two 32-bit CardBus slots. All models include 21-inch TFT displays with 1024x768-pixel or 800x600-pixel resolution.

With the Armada 7700's modular design, you can choose between a floppy drive or an 8X CD-ROM drive, and a second hard drive or second lithium ion battery. The battery pack's Battery QuickCheck feature allows you to check the remaining charge without powering up the notebook.
