Think getting more memory will improve your Pentium's performance? Not necessarily: Adding anything beyond 64MB will probably degrade performance. Chipsets for the Pentium only support caching up to 64MB, so programs that use the uppermost memory regions (like Windows' own paging scheme or DOS extenders) will make the system sluggish when code in the upper memory is accessed. If you need more memory, say for a big-time Web server, you'll be happy to know caching on the Pentium II is supported as high as 528MB.
