Out: Multifunction devices. In: Printers that do other things. That's the word from Canon, which bills the Canon MultiPass C2500 as a convertible color printer, rather than a multifunction device. The MultiPass C2500 is a 720x360dpi BubbleJet printer that also serves as a copier, scanner, plain-paper fax and PC fax.
It prints up to 5 pages per minute in black and white, and from 0.3 to 0.8ppm in color. The printer holds 150 sheets and supports envelopes, transparencies and T-shirt transfers. It scans at 200dpi, copies at 360dpi and faxes a page in six seconds. The MultiPass C2500 measures 14 by 18.8 by 19 inches and weighs 17.2 pounds.
Also newly released, the Canon MultiPass 800 360dpi black-and-white printer will scan, copy and fax.
