Here & Now 2.0

Read and Write to Mac Media

If you work in a mixed-platform environment, Here & Now 2.0 file interchange utility lets you handle Mac files as if they were native Windows files. The utility lets you seamlessly read and write to Macintosh-formatted media, and will format 1.44MB diskettes in a Macintosh format.

When you insert a Mac-formatted diskette into your drive, Here & Now makes it appear as a DOS/Windows volume. Double-click on the Mac file, and the utility's extension mapping automatically recognizes and opens the appropriate Windows application.

When you transfer files from a PC to a Mac, Here & Now adds the appropriate Mac file Type and Creator.

This new version supports Windows 95, 3.1x and DOS. It also supports a greater variety of Macintosh-formatted media, including CD-ROMs and removable media such as rewritable magneto-optical, SyQuest, Bernoulli, Zip and Jaz drives.

Utilities In Brief

Does your Windows NT network's disk fragmentation have you all broken up? Disk fragmentation can affect performance, resulting in slower disk access and longer loading times. Diskeeper for Windows NT 1.04 defrags disks and works online and in the background while disks are in use. You can also set a defragmentation schedule. The upgrade supports Windows NT 3.51, and Microsoft has certified it as BackOffice-compatible.
